Over Memorial Day weekend 48 teams in the Under 14 through Under 19 age groups from Eastern and Western District and El Paso converged on 5 Mile Dam Park in San Marco to compete in the 2011 South Texas US Youth Soccer National Championship Series State Cup Tournament.
The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series is the most prestigious youth soccer national championship tournament in the country. More than 185,000 players on over 10,000 teams have an opportunity to showcase their skills against the best competition in the nation.
A year long series of competitions for boys and girls in multiple age brackets are used to identify the top teams in each US Youth Soccer State Association for an opportunity to participate in a regional championship tournament.
The boys and girls State Champions in the Under 14 through Under 19 age groups automatically advance to the US Youth Soccer Region III Southern Regional Tournament in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, June 16 thru 22, 2011 to battle the champions from the other Region III states for the opportunity to advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championship Tournament in July.
