The 4th annual TOPSoccer Festival was held Saturday, March 2 at the Star Soccer Complex. With the help of Star Soccer Complex, San Antonio Scorpions, Morgan’s Wonderland, NEYSO Special Teams, and South Texas Youth Soccer we had a successful event for all of the athletes participating at this year’s event.
Athletes, volunteers and coaches were full of energy and excitement. Bob Wilde, STYSA ODP Coach, and John Tomas, Former Assistant National Director of US Youth Soccer, with the help of local club and college coaches got Athletes started by having them and their Buddy simply kick the balls. Then the coaches led the players and buddies through a series of skills demonstrations, activities and games. The players performed and practiced a series of techniques like dribbling, push passes, knee passes, and various types of freestyle passes. The day included other fun ball activities and games. Players and volunteers were welcomed and encouraged by Gordon Hartman, founder of Morgan’s Wonderland.
TOPSoccer events are not possible without the participation of many, many volunteers. Special thanks to each and every one!!
