The South Texas Friendlies provided a GREAT weekend of soccer in College Station!
Events like this cannot happen without large amounts of behind-the-scenes effort. STYSA wishes to thank all those involved in making this such a successful event.
Much appreciation goes to Billy Hart, Brazos Valley YSA, and College Station Chamber of Commerce for their hospitality this past weekend. The city of College Station and the University went above and beyond our expectations.
Special thanks to Texas A&M Soccer and Austin Nationals (the new WPSL team from Austin) for providing an exciting exhibition game Saturday night. Everyone was raving about the game and how it added a tremendous value to the weekend. Being able to watch a match between some of the best female players in the country will be unforgettable.
"It was wonderful having so many Olympic Development Program players and coaches in College Station, where they could experience Aggieland's warm hospitality and world class soccer facilities. We hope y'all can come back real soon. Gig 'em!" -Coach G Guerrieri
Thanks go to the ODP staff and coaches of the participating State soccer associations of Louisiana, Oklahoma and North Texas. We especially want to thank all the players who participated and their parents for getting them to the games.
The overall experience the players had was incredible. These were great games with high levels of completion. Fun was had by all.
