League overview
Welcome to the Eastern District Players League operated by South Texas Youth Soccer. The Players League offers playing opportunities for competitive teams in Houston and the surrounding areas of the Eastern District and serves as the qualifying league for entry into other South Texas & USYS competitions. STX Youth Soccer manages all operations of the league including rules of play, registration, scheduling and field usage, disciplinary sanctions, and referee assignments. The Players League hosts a comprehensive platform for boys’ and girls’ teams in the 11U-19U age groups. The Players League proudly offers multiple divisions, including Platinum, Division I, Super 2, and Division II.
PLATINUM
Platinum Bracket is the highest level of competition within the Eastern District for Division 1; teams will participate within the district during league play and opportunities for bringing together teams from both the Eastern and Western Districts for cross-district play. Teams can expect a moderate to high travel commitment throughout South Texas in exchange for consistent, high-level competition against the region’s strongest opponents. This platform is designed for clubs and players seeking the most competitive league environment available in South Texas. Beginning with the 2027-28 seasonal year, EDPL Platinum will serve as the league pathway into National 1 League. Teams must be pre-qualified or accepted.
DIVISION I / SUPER 2
Division I/Super 2 brackets are designed for strong competitive teams seeking a challenging level of play against similarly skilled opponents. Teams compete with the goal of advancing to higher levels of South Texas competition, including Platinum brackets. Travel expectations are moderate, with teams competing against quality opponents within the Eastern District and surrounding areas. This level is ideal for clubs looking for a balance of high-level competition and manageable travel commitments Teams must be pre-qualified or accepted.
DIVISION II
Division II brackets provide a competitive entry point for teams moving beyond local recreational play and beginning their progression within South Texas soccer. The level of competition is development-focused, allowing teams to gain experience against similarly matched opponents while preparing for advancement to higher divisions. Travel requirements are generally limited to local and geographical bracket competition, making it an accessible option for clubs seeking a competitive environment with lower travel demands. Open to properly registered STYSA Teams within Eastern District.

The Eastern District Players League follows a per game fee structure for both the Fall and Spring portions of the seasonal year. All teams must complete payment of their team’s games by the coinciding date listed in the Payment Policy and the League Calendar.
